Frequently Asked Questions:
Is this procedure painful?
Topical anesthetics have been developed especially for permanent makeup procedures. These creams and gels are applied to the desired area before and during the procedure to assure you of the most comfortable experience possible. Some people describe the sensation as a "tingling" feeling. Rarely is anything stronger than a Tylenol necessary for the discomfort and you won't have to miss work or take time off to recover. Because this is a cosmetic invasive procedure, there are risks as well as benefits. These include infection, allergic reaction, misplaced color, or scarring. Before the procedure, please ask questions!
Do I have a choice of colors?
Definitely! There's a wide spectrum of colors to choose from.
Do I have a choice in the placement of the pigments?
Yes. During your consultation, design and pigment placement will be determined.
What is involved in recovery?
There will be a slight swelling and redness in the skin which will subside quickly. It is advised to apply cold packs (not ice) for 10 minutes at a time during the first few hours. You may resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Complete healing takes one to six weeks while the pigmentation matures and reaches its final color.
How long will my makeup last?
Intradermal Pigmentation lasts a long time, but not forever. As you become accustomed to your new makeup, it's not uncommon to want more. You will want to freshen up your new makeup every couple of years. The darker the color, the longer it will stay unchanged in your skin. Natural, delicate colors are oftentimes more vulnerable to the effects of the sun, swimming, and breakdown of the body's natural response.
Eyebrows
The Intradermal Pigmentation procedure for eyebrows can mimic the appearance of hair in the brow line. Anyone who desires more fullness of the brows will love this procedure and the time saved by not applying makeup. Those who used to apply eyebrow pencil will be able to swim, play sports, or wipe their forehead without the embarrassment of losing their eyebrows. Alopecia sufferers are pleasantly surprised at how natural it appears.
Eye Liner
A subtle, natural look, mimicking thousands of tiny eyelashes with the implantation of pigments in the lash line is popular in both female and male clients. Additional shadowing of color can be added for a soft natural liner or a bold defined line may be achieved. Ophthalmologists reccomend Intradermal Cosmetic procedures for those who are allergic to conventional makeup and for those wearing contact lenses.
Lip Liner / Lip Color
The Intradermal Pigmentation procedure for lip color is beautiful. It can appear to change the size and shape of the lips as well as the color. This procedure helps prevent lipstick from bleeding into the surrounding skin. A soft pink, similar to the color of a newborn baby, is popular for those wanting a natural look. A more dramatic color can be achieved if desired.
